What sets everything bagels apart from regular bagels? You got it, the everything spice. I have heard that Trader Joe’s sells an Everything-But-The-Bagel Spice, but I live in West Virginia, and I am not sure that there is a Trader Joe’s in the entire state. Even if there was, I am pretty sure that I wouldn’t want to buy it at Trader Joe’s. As you know, I prefer the cheaper way out, but I prefer to call it “interested in controlling what I eat”.
Either way, this ‘spice’ is delicious. Enjoy it on bagels,, obviously, but also on salmon, broccoli, roasted vegetables, and anything else your heart desires.
Ingredients –
Essentially, we’re going for a 4:2:2:1:1 ratio here, with poppy seeds, sesame seeds, minced onions, kosher salt, and pepper. So if you want to make a spice jar sized amount, you’ll need 4 tablespoons poppy seeds, 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, 2 tablespoons minced onions, and a scant tablespoon each of kosher salt and pepper. Mix and enjoy on whatever!
Note:
If you don’t particularly like super salty things or want to use table salt, reduce the amount of salt.
